Computer Error at the end of CK Exam

I took my Step2 CK yesterday .. I will write the review at some later point with good peace of mind .. in short the exam felt easy .. not sure if I was well prepared or so but anyways .. its doable .. UW concepts are the key .. thats all I can say

Here is the issue. At the end of the my exam .. block 8 .. I hit end block button and an error appeared on screen .. I could see the expected exam completion report in the background .. I contacted the proctor .. needless to say she didn't know anything and lady just tried straight re-boot .. argghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

it was close to 6 pm and prometric ppl were more interested to close the center .. they just gave me incident ticket numebr to call prometric helpline ..

Called them .. they gave another tkt number to call NBME .. called NBME this morning .. they can not confirm anything and will take 10 days to do full investigation .. really tensed now ..

I wont know anything for 10 days .. which takes me to August and as you all know scores will be delayed if I take it again in August .. the other issue is that I cant deal with this 10 days lag if at all they ask me to take it again .. I am sure going to lose the focus ..

this is ridiculous ..

if anyone heard of anything of this sort .. please share it .. anything that can make me feel at ease

My advise-Only worry about things you can change.
Sh*t happens and there is nothing you can do about it.
Most likely you are OK since the exam completion report was there in the background...but be prepared for anything.

yup .. Things that cannot be cured must be endured ..

I also hope that I am ok but little worried as Prometric did not check me out and did not give me completion letter as well ..

i had the EXACT same experience in BOTH my step 1 exam and my step 2 exam. Right after i ended the 7th block in step 1 and the 8th block in step2 there was an error. It comes up with 2 options : yes or no. u had to click yes. even if u dont click yes a screen comes saying u have completed the test. that alone means everything is going to be fine. I was very worried after this happened to me in my step 1 exam but i got the result on time and didnt have any further trouble. The staff there at the examination centre told me there was nothing to worry about. And then they printed the statement saying i had completed my exam. yesterday after i gave my step 2 exam the same thing happened again.. so this time round i didnt get worried...

the only cause for concern in ure case is that they didnt give u the document stating that u had completed ure exam . but the fact that u saw the screen saying u had completed the exam shud be enough. U shudnt worry, hopefully u will get ure result in time ... like i did... i know its very very hard to regain ure focus and gain that level of knowledge all over again ... but u wont have to
