Hi all,

I am kinda lost in the section of RhoGAM, so I am trying to compile what we need to know about it, Can anyone help?

If mother is -ve and baby is +ve then you give it at 28 weeks, do you give it after birth?
What about in cases of abortion and ectopic pregnancy?
What are the Rosette and Kleihauer-Batke tests and when to do them?

A compilation would help us all.

For uncomplicated pregnancy (Negative antibody screen during the 1st trimester), you give the standard dose of anti d- immunoglobulin at 28 weeks and post partum.
If fetomaternal hemorrhage suspected then we do rosette test which's qualitative test to detect any feto maternal hemorrhage, if it's negative just give the regular dose of anti D.
If it's positive do then do the Kleihauer-Batke test to estimate the amount of the hemorrhage and the anti D dose will be adjusted accordingly.
Regarding events(ectopic pregnancy and abortion) or procedures that increase the risk of isoimmuniation(amniocentesis), we ll give the early anti D prophylaxis.

In a Rh negative pregnant woman, anytime bleeding before 28 weeks - give Rhogam,
repeat dose at 28 weeks
then a dose at delivery.
