8 mnth old boy is brought to ED after GTC. over past couple of days, he has been more irritable than usual but has maintained a good appetite. His temp is 102 F and on examination there is pharyngeal and tonsillar ERYTHEMA WITHOUT EXUDATES. neck is supple. Pink coalescent macules are present on his abdomen and chest. which of following is the most likely cause of this patients condition ?

• enterovirus infection
• hepresvirus infection
• paramyxovirus meningitis
• kawasaki disease

when ever the temp raises to 102+ children can have serizures or as they are called on the rounds FEVER FITS

 

Yea, but what is causing the fever is being asked.

I'd probably say Herpes based on elimination too.
