Hey there... I took my CK exam on 13th Sept.... My Permit link disappeared today.... Hoping for the result on coming Wednesday. Everybody else who is expecting result on 3rd Oct.. Hop in!!!

Hey, guys, I took my exam on Sept. 8. Today should be the big day (my permit link also disappeared). I'm not gonna lie, I felt that the actual exam was quite a bit harder than UWorld. I walked out feeling pretty unsure about how well I did, but that is usually the case regardless of the outcome. Any ideas on when the results are supposed to come out? Best of luck to both of you.

Congrats to everyone - besides listing scores, would it be possible to share some additional info ( question banks/books, review material and maybe how they were or were not representative to the actual exam?)

Been hearing rumors that UW question style has been different from August.

Step 2 CK: 262/87

For those who have asked, I would be happy to share what I did. I bought a year subscription to UWorld a year ago to study for OB/GYN and peds shelf exams. For about the last ten months, I worked through Step Up To Medicine two times and completed the UWorld Qbank three to four times (in prep for Medicine and Surgery shelves). Let me say, I did not take this exam as seriously as Step 1. UWorld's coverage of OB/GYN was not, in my opinion, as comprehensive as that found in First Aid for CK (2012 edition) and I would have done well to study the First Aid OB/GYN section before the exam (honestly, I was just burned out with trying to figure out my career path in the month and a half before the exam and studied very little). Despite my lack of preparation immediately prior, I did well in all sections of the exam with the exception of OB/GYN (a fourth of my bar was in the borderline zone) while the rest were in the high performance range. Also, after six months of my subscription to UWorld, I had them wipe the memory so I could go through the Qbank anew. On that attempt, I answered 90% correct and was in the 98th percentile. Unfortunately, that was about six months before the exam and I never did a UWorld Self Assessment, so I'm not sure how to correlate my final score with UWorld performance. Was UWorld helpful? Obviously, yes, if you think a 260+ is for you. If you would like a 265-275 score, maybe study a First Aid type section on psych and OB/GYN in addition to going through UWorld two or three times or just make sure you continue studying UWorld right up to when you take the test (unlike what I did). In terms of format, the real test is similar to what you will see in UWorld, only a bit less forward in some of the questions and answers. For example, I would know exactly what a question was talking about, but I could not find one answer that clearly matched what I would have expected the answer to be (if that makes sense). That kind of thing happened a number of times. Finally, the real thing is different because you have not seen the questions before, they may be phrased slightly different than the UWorld format, and you're being timed and forced to sit for eight hours! Take breaks! I took a lunch break (after five hours) and a twenty minute break to walk around and call my wife before heading back in for the last hour. This helped a lot compared to my experience with step 1, for which I only took a fifteen minute lunch. In short, UWorld is great, but if you're going to rely on it alone, study it (ie, read the explanations until you know them well and read the incorrect answer explanations to know why they are incorrect) and study it up until the end. Also, I should have done a self assessment to see where I was weak, then I could have gone and spent some time on OB/GYN. So, there it is. I wish you all the best and hope my ramblings have been of some help. I am going into rural family medicine and apparently many FM programs take as much consideration of your step 2 CK score as that of step 1 when offering interviews (per NRMP 2012 match report). I'm not sure how true that is in other fields.

Hitman, I think your surprise is a common reaction . I certainly considered fields like plastics, ENT and rads, but I am choosing rural family medicine so I can still do a number of fun procedures, live in a smaller community, and be able to do a bit of everything because I couldn't bring myself to focus on one area of the body. dr_anas did you results come out on 0ct 3rd. I actually gave my exam on the 21st September,which was a friday. Some people say results come out till the wednesday of the week others say till the friday. I just wanted to know if your results came out to see if i should expect my results on the 10th or 17th oct...

for step 2 ck is?
