Hello all,
I took my exam on 27th Dec. I don't think I'm going to say anything different from what others said, but I guess every little bit of info helps. So, here I go.
My background - graduated med school in 2008, finished my residency in home country, now in US post-marriage.
Step in July - 82/223
Preparing on n off since August.
Studied KLNs for any topic I thought I needed to in a bit detail, but primary tools were MTB2-3, and UWorld.
I could complete UWorld just once, and that too before I could read all the subjects.. first pass score 67% random, timed. I used to have 10-15 mins to spare in every test.
USWA - 1 week before test - 245
I had my exam at 8 am, and I'm not a morning person.
I tried to change my sleep schedule for a couple of weeks before exam, but never managed to stick to it for more than 2 days:toosad:
The night before exam, I slept at 11 somehow, and woke up at 6. Fresh enough, but too anxious.
I took a break after my first block (still anxious), then I took two consecutive blocks (just a 3-4 minute break, while on my seat); took a break after my 3rd block, then 2 more blocks.. then my lunch break, almost 25 mins; then block 6 - 5mins break - block 7 - 1 mins, and the last block!
Happy-2
I had 2 blocks of 45, one block of 43, last block of 36 and all others 44 questions.
I had 2 drug ads, and 2 abstracts in the entire exam, and they were pretty easy to handle.
I started to phase out from my fourth block onwards, hence started taking longer breaks after that. But my last couple of blocks seemed relatively easy, and went quickly.
I don't remember lot of questions, but the majority, obviously, were IM, then paeds, gynaec, sugery, and some psych/ethics/biostats..
I hope I get my score by 3rd Wednesday, as I'm taking my CS soon too!:scared:
