Star My Step 2 CS Experience

Study plan:
- Resources used: FA Step 2 CS 4th Edition (plus Neeraj's notes and 1 other set of notes that I came across)
- Study time: 4 weeks while in Ob-Gyn (Q4 on call )

I studied with a partner in person going over all the full cases once. Went over the mini-cases 2 times. I thought this was sufficient though I would have practiced more if I had the time. Didn't really spend too much time studying for the physical exam portion so I missed a bunch of stuff during the actual test but I did always do the most pertinent exam portions.

I made a bunch of mistakes on the exam but I always counselled, closed, summarized the history/physical, gave differentials. I even made a stupid mistake on ALL my notes by spelling rhythm as "rhythym" for some reason lol. In 1 case, I got the HPI and did the physical exam... then I looked down on my sheet and saw I forgot to ask the rest of the history but I did it then since I had enough time.

I thought FA was more than enough for the test. No other resources are needed.

I'm a student at SGU and this was my first attempt... passed with high performance in all categories. Took the test in Philadelphia.

Default My experience

I promised myself I would write if I passed, so here goes.

Prep: First Aid CS + missing cases from Usmle world/ friends notes

Practice: FA cases twice, once over the phone with a friend, once with my husband( that's much faster)

Mistakes: Did not use soap to wash my hands (Hey, I was nervous, I forgot) Didn't get time to counsel 2, skipped examination on one.

Result: pass

Tip: they serve amazing lunch. veg included, no vegan unless you're happy with just fruits!
