I know the feeling, I think that the people that did the exam in february deserve a price for waiting...

Immediately after my exam I started to remember stupid little mistakes i did throughout the exam.

We are also the guinea pigs as we are the largest group of examinees that took the exam after they increased the difficulty:sleepy:.

Lets pray hard for a pass !!

USMLE.org has a reporting schedule that includes last year and this year...
the web link is: http://www.usmle.org/step-2-cs/#reporting

there you can see that our reporting period starts in 2 weeks and extends all the way to May, because you were one of the first to take the exam your result SHOULD be out in 2 weeks, I took my exam 5 days before you so im also expecting to receive it in 2 weeks.

I dont care about performance as long as I see a huge and sexy PASS.

This is my last exam before ECFMG certification so I'm pretty nervous.

Change in the performance standard of the Step 2 CS

The Step 2 Committee decided to increase the performance levels required to receive a passing outcome on two of the three Step 2 CS subcomponents: Communication and Interpersonal Skills (CIS) and Integrated Clinical Encounter (ICE). There will be no change to minimum passing requirements for the Spoken English Proficiency (SEP) subcomponent of Step 2 CS at this time.
If the new minimum passing requirements were applied to the group of first-time examinees who recently tested under the new examination structure, the overall passing rate for examinees from US medical schools would be approximately three percent lower and the overall passing rate for examinees from international medical schools would be approximately eighteen percent lower.

Hi everybody,
I feel scary to fail the exam ! I don't know if my performance in the exam lead me to pass. I praying a lot to just pass.

I took the exam in Chicago on march 22. Do you think if there is a chance to my result show early on april 24? I can't wait !
I took mine on March 22nd too in Atlanta and I'm praying to just pass. No clue how I did for this exam. Hope they release my results on April 24th. Good luck to everyone else waiting for the results! Happy-2

Hey everyone. Took my exam on February 19th in Atlanta. Made a few mistakes. Didn't complete closure in a few cases and forgot a major part of the examination in one case. Wasn't sure about the diagnosis in a couple of them as well. Have ruminated about it enough since then and I think I've made my peace with having to take on the beast one more time. Even so, hope reigns eternal and I hope I get lucky.
All the best to everyone on this thread and everyone who is too worried to post.

Hi all!

I also took the exam on March 21st in Chicago and I hope to have my results on the 24th April :scared: I had a good feeling when the exam was over, but afterwards I started remembering some things that I forgot to do.

I didn't do closure and a full physical exam on one case, but the rest of the cases I managed to finish. I also did all the usual things such as: knock on the door, wear gloves, introduced myself, ask if they have any questions, extend the footrest etc. I didn't counsel too much, because I didn't think was necessary.

I just hope to pass! Good luck to everyone :sorry:

Happened to me too after one particular case where I barely began my closure when the clock hit the 15 minute mark. I did discard it right away though. I don't think the gloves per se would be too big an issue. After all I did inform the patient that I got beeped and have to rush for an emergency (at which point he flashed a knowing, cheeky grin :scared:)
Now not concluding the case properly is another matter altogether. Expecting significant point deductions there..sigh.

guys.... I just remembered something when i wrote my PN...
i forgot things (like surigical history many times and some other things in my PN) do you think it would be enough to fail me ???

i'm really depressed right now
I dont think so, I asked CAGE questionnaire whenever it was pertinent but forgot to register that on the PT, only wrote it once.. almost everybody made some silly mistakes..

What worries me the most is the CIS subcomponent.. I really dont know what to expect.

One thing is sure, If I dont pass I'm quitting USMLE.

I had the longest wait ..gave it on 30th so it gave me ample time to think of alternate vocations in case i fail...
Due to tension hair have started greying..there shud be a law aganist this kind of mental draining
i dont even remember now how it went in philly ...but i do remember doin a lot of goof ups which due to new standards may lead to failure..

I feel you brother, sometimes I also question as to why I even began this USMLE journey, too much money and stress, we are incapable of planning our future with absolute calm because we need to WAIT and WAIT, and sometimes that wait is not even worth it..

I have already made peace with myself and to whatever result I get, even if this is the last exam some of us have to take in order to be ECFMG certified..
I have been preparing for my country's boards and I have applied to my country's specialties which I will take even if I pass the USMLE step 2 CS... Im tired of putting my 100% to some cause that in the end it wont probably be true or even worth it... Dont get me wrong tho It would be awesome to pass but after so much mental struggle there is a point in which you just stop caring.. haha

It is time to start enjoying life and to be happy to what I do, which is study and help others.. not be stressed and not being able to sleep for the past 20 months (since I started my journey).

ITS TIME FOR ME TO LOOK DOWN UNDER ...GIVING AUSTRALIAN MEDICAL COUNCIL EXAM ON 17TH MAY.....just in case things dont go the way planned.
Just got MD IN Anesthesia but still cant control my senses wen it comes to board exams..anyhoo..step 3 still left in order to secure fellowship..

The lady who teaches /trains these SP was SP IN my 6th case..gave a wierd expression wen i examined abdo without getting the knees n hips flexed up.

I guess the real thing is to connect with the patient lingustically and emotionally and giving the patie
nt 2-3 working diagnosis and then typing like a cheetah outside...although i find this exam on a broader sense funny...coz u cant control the outcome..

AMGs outside were superconfident and told me that it will take a lot to fail this exam and some were already matched in specialties like radio, em medicine and were super relaxed. But as earlier mentioned in threads they all said they aint touched a patient since last 6 mo.

I hope we all sailing on the same ship reach our destination and no one gets thrown overboard.
